Tommy Lei
b. 1988, Hong Kong, China
A Los Angeles–based visual artist and fine art photographer whose work is rooted in stillness, memory, and emotional restoration. Born in Hong Kong and raised as a Buddhist, his practice traces moments of quiet
transformation—evocative landscapes and architectural fragments that offer viewers a rare invitation to pause. Each photograph is a meditation on presence: poetic, contemplative, and composed with the restraint of a seasoned observer.
Blending a background in psychology with years of global
creative commissions, Lei’s visual language is deeply informed by meditative philosophy and artistic influences including Wang Wei, Fan Ho, Georgia O’Keeffe, Pierre Dmitrienko, and Ansel Adams. His work serves as a visual geography of feeling—capturing the liminal space between displacement and arrival, solitude and serenity.
